When Worry Takes Up Too Much Space

Occasional anxiety is part of being human. But when constant worry, physical tension, or panic interferes with your days, thoughtful care can help you regain your ground.

Understanding Anxiety

Anxiety is not just feeling stressed before a busy day. It can show up as persistent, racing thoughts that refuse to turn off, sudden waves of chest tightness, or a constant state of anticipating the worst. While normal stress comes and goes with events, anxiety often persists, leaving you exhausted and overwhelmed.

Common Experiences & Symptoms

Persistent, uncontrollable worry or 'what if' spirals
Restlessness, feeling easily startled or on edge
Physical tension, muscle stiffness, or headaches
Sleep disturbances: trouble falling asleep or waking up racing
Difficulty concentrating because your mind feels crowded
Sudden panic sensations, rapid heart rate, or shortness of breath

How We Approach Assessment & Care

At Xyra Psychiatry, evaluation starts with listening to your story. Grace Njie takes the time to understand how anxiety fits into your daily routine, your physical health, your sleep patterns, and what you have tried in the past.

Care is tailored to your comfort and values. Depending on your needs, a treatment plan may include evidence-based medications, practical somatic and cognitive coping strategies, and warm referrals for collaborative psychotherapy.

When Other Care May Be Needed

Severe physical symptoms (such as sudden chest pain) should always be evaluated by a medical doctor or urgent care to rule out medical conditions. When intensive in-person therapy or crisis services are needed, we assist in connecting you with appropriate community resources.
